A massive 7.0-magnitude earthquake has struck Haiti.

A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.0 degrees on the Richter scale and 10 km deep struck Haiti, causing widespread devastation.

These earthquakes have taken place 15 km from its capital Port-au-Prince.

At present there are injures in different parts of the city with little or no-existent first aid help. Doctors and nurses as well as hospitals are overwhelmed. The health system cannot cope with that situation, there are death people at the front doors of some hospitals and also on streets.

The most ** immediate needs are: emergency health, water and sanitation, emergency shelter, inbound logistics and telecommunications.

The Haitian Red Cross has evacuated thousand of people and moved to safer places many others. The first aid team begin to have a deficiency of watering, food and first aid equipment.

The International Federation of Red Cross has launched a preliminary appeal for 6.8 million worth of euros to meet the needs of 20,000 families and has moved in emergency health personnel, inbound logistic and reporting news.
