What do I need to hire a car?
You need to be held of a valid driving license with a minimum standing of three years and to be also held of a credit card. The minimum age of the hirer must be 21 years old. Solmar not accept debit car or cash. Solmar applies a young driver surcharge for drivers younger than 25 years with a driver licence between 1 and 4 years. € 4.72 per day (tax inc.)
Can I collect the car at any time?
At the airport offices, car collection can usually be done 24 hours a day, as long as you provide us with your flight details and arrival time. At other Solmar branches have more fixed timetable, generally from 09.00-13.00 and 16.30-19.30 from Monday to Friday, and from 09.00-13.00 Saturdays. Sundays and local holidays they remain closed.
How do we collect my car if the flight arrives very late at night or it's been delayed?

Can we return the car in a different Solmar location where we picked it up?
Yes, you can but the price for the hire car may increase.
Can I drive the car to another country?
It is possible to drive the car to France, Andorra and Portugal. This will be allowed only from the following Solmar locations: From Barcelona and Gerona to France and Andorra and from Santiago de Compostela to Portugal. To extend the insurance cover 10 € per day (tax inc.) have to be paid on arrival.
What can I do if my car breaks down?
If you have a problem with your vehicle, you have a phone number for support service which will assist you and will solve your problem as soon as possible and the best way.
Can I make a reservation or request a quotation by fax, e-mail or telephone?
Yes, you may obtain an instant custom made quotation through our online booking system and the possibility to continue with a reservation. Please make sure your e-mail address is typed correctly.
Can I make a reservation for a specific car, model, or colour?
No, we can not confirm car models or particular colors or even if the motor vehicle is petrol or diesel. We can only reserve the car group, but all the cars in the selected group will have similar characteristics. If you request a particular model will do our best to please him, but without any guarantee we can give the vehicle you requested.
What should I pay for the gas car?
The price of fuel will depend on the type of fuel the vehicle, fuel prices varies from international market prices of fuel and the collection area.
Can all the members of my family or friends drive our hired car?
No, only those specified in the contract may drive the hired car. We offeer you the possibility to contract up to 4 drivers in total.
